Doctor Who: Series 9 Posters [Fanmade]

Monday, February 19, 2018

Here are some fanmade posters I found prior to Series 9, I stopped posting for a while so that is why they were not uploaded.

I have updated some of these.

This is brilliant! I like to think i'm arty but not to this standard. I think this is brilliant. Can they design the official posters in future?

I really like this. I find it very amusing. It is by the same artist as the one above and both are amazing. I love the Roman numerals fitting with the Back To The Future theme along with the rest of the poster.

This image has done the rounds over social media. I remember people thinking it was official. This is a brilliant poster. I like the use of the Maze from The Maze Runner in the background.

I like the faded London and Gallifrey in the background it very fitting. The colours fit well leaving The Doctor to stand out.

This is quite a simple post but I feel it works just as well. The pictures are from either Series 8 (Missy) for the 50th (Clara).

There were loads more to get through, but I thought i'd end here just in case I ever decide to post more.

Till next time

Monday, May 12, 2014

Former Spooks star Hermione Norris will guest star in Doctor Who.

The BBC has confirmed that Norris will feature in series eight of Doctor Who in an episode that is set in Lanzarote and written by Wallander's Peter Harness
.

Norris is perhaps best known for portraying MI5 agent Ros Myers in the spy drama Spooks, and has had other memorable parts in Wire in the Blood and Cold Feet.

Norris said of appearing in Doctor Who: "It's exciting to be part of such an iconic show, and one that my kids can watch!"

Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat added: "It's a testament to the quality of Peter Harness's intense and emotional script, that we've been able to attract an actress of the brilliance of Hermione Norris.

"And for the first time since 1984, the Doctor Who production team is heading to Lanzarote. The Doctor is returning to the scene of an old adventure - but there have been sinister changes since his last visit."

The last Doctor Who story set in Lanzarote was 'Planet of Fire', which saw the Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison) take on his arch-nemesis The Master (Anthony Ainley).

Ellis George, Tony Osoba (Revolver) and Phil Nice (Hebburn) will also appear in this new instalment.

Norris joins Tom Riley and Ben Miller as high-profile guest stars for Peter Capaldi's first series as The Doctor.

Keeley Hawes will also be portraying the villainous Ms Delphox in an upcoming episode.

Jamie Mathieson has confirmed that he will be writing a series eight episode as well.

Doctor Who will return to BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US in the autumn.

Doctor Who: Ben Miller to play villain in Mark Gatiss episode

Ben Miller is to play a villain on Doctor Who.

Miller will face off against Peter Capaldi's new Doctor in the BBC sci-fi drama's next series.

"As a committed Whovian I cannot believe my luck in joining the Twelfth Doctor for one of his inaugural adventures," the actor and comic said. "My only worry is that they'll make me leave the set when I'm not filming."

Miller will appear in an episode penned by Mark Gatiss, set to air later in 2014.

"Mark Gatiss has written us a storming villain for his new episode," said lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat.

"With Capaldi in the TARDIS, we knew we needed somebody special to send everybody behind the sofa. And quite frankly, it's about time Ben Miller was in Doctor Who!"

48-year-old Miller previously played the lead in BBC One's Death in Paradise and appeared in ITV sci-fi Primeval.

He is also known for his comedy work opposite Alexander Armstrong, who previously appeared in Doctor Who in 2011 and provided voice work for spinoff The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Other guest stars joining Miller in the next series of Doctor Who include Tom Riley (Da Vinci's Demons) and Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty).

‘Da Vinci’s Demons’ star Tom Riley joins ‘Doctor Who’ series 8

32 year-old British actor Tom Riley is set to appear in the upcoming eighth series of Doctor Who in an episode written by veteran Who scribe Mark Gatiss.

Riley has previously appeared in detective dramas Lewis and Monroe, St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold (alongside former Doctor Who star David Tennant), comedy series Twenty Twelve and STARZ’s Da Vinci’s Demons, in which he plays Leonardo Da Vinci.

On the news, Riley tweeted: “Well, that’s out then. I’ve been a massive fan since I was even smaller than Jenna. Very excited. @MarkGatiss’s script is awesome.”

Just as Riley’s exact role remains a mystery, little is known of his episode as a whole although it has been confirmed that Gatiss is writing two episodes for Capaldi’s Doctor. However, Gatiss has clarified that though he has been commissioned for two episodes, “that doesn’t mean they’ll both necessarily be in this season.”

Facts about the new series are slowly coming together. Besides Mark Gatiss, other confirmed writers include Steven Moffat, Stephen Thompson and Phil Ford, while the other big guest name so far announced to be appearing in the series is Keeley Hawes.

Hawes, known for roles in Ashes to Ashes, Upstairs, Downstairs and more recently Line of Duty, is to appear as the villainous Miss Delphox in Phil Ford’s episode for the series. She will be a tough alien businesswoman, described by the BBC as a “powerful out of this world character with a dark secret.”

Doctor Who casts Line of Duty's Keeley Hawes in series 8

Friday, March 14, 2014

Keeley Hawes is to play a major role in the next series of Doctor Who.

Hawes - currently starring in BBC Two's hit drama Line of Duty - will play Ms Delphox on the BBC sci-fi drama.

Described as a "powerful out of this world character with a dark secret", Delphox will encounter the new Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and companion Clara (Jenna Coleman) when they arrive on a strange and puzzling planet.

"I am delighted to join Doctor Who and to be working with this incredible team," said Hawes, who will appear in the fifth episode of the new series, written by Steve Thompson.

"Ms Delphox is a great character and someone I've had a lot of fun playing."

Doctor Who's lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat added: "Anyone watching Jed Mercurio's amazing Line of Duty will know that Keeley Hawes is having one hell of a year. And now it's about to get even better as she achieves the greatest villainy yet attempted on Doctor Who - she plays a banker."

In addition to playing DI Lindsay Denton on Line of Duty, Hawes has also appeared in Spooks, Ashes to Ashes and Upstairs Downstairs.

Filming is currently under way on the new series of Doctor Who - Capaldi's first as the iconic Time Lord - with new episodes set to transmit in the autumn.

Doctor Who casts Emmerdale's Samuel Anderson as new recurring character

Monday, February 24, 2014

Samuel Anderson has joined the cast of Doctor Who.

The Emmerdale actor will play a recurring character in the upcoming eighth series, which introduces Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor.

Anderson will play Danny Pink, a teacher who works alongside Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) at Coal Hill School.

The actor said of joining the show: "I was so excited to join Doctor Who I wanted to jump and click my heels, but I was scared I might not come down before filming started

"It's a quintessential part of British culture and I can't believe I'm part of it. It's an honour to be able to work alongside Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman and I can't wait to show people how my character becomes involved with such a fantastic duo!"
